Vegetable CSA Manager
Brittany is a native to Bel Air, Maryland, but fell in love with New England at The University of Vermont in Burlington. She began farming at Common Ground, UVM's student-run educational farm, and so began her passion for sustainable, local agriculture. She apprenticed at Flying Plow Farm in Joppa, MD, where she gained valuable vegetable production experience .and the following summer managed Common Ground's 75 member CSA. She also worked with draft horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, and chickens at Sunny Hill Farm in South Randolph, VT. She returned to Flying Plow Farm as assistant farm manager, where she helped manage a 175-member CSA for two years . Brittany enjoys working with draft horses, red clover, dark coffee, maple syrup and using food as medicine.
Livestock and Grazing Manager
Michael was raised in the woods of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where he grew to love the outdoors. He attended Paul Smith's College in the Adirondacks, receiving his BS in Forestry. A self-declared conservationist, he is dedicated to improving the environment and sustainable farming practices. He began farming three years ago when he and his cousin began a farm consulting business which evolved into Earnest Farms in Bolton, Massachusetts, offering a meat CSA including beef, chicken, turkey, duck, lamb, pork and goat. Michael is passionate about rotational, holistic grazing methods, hiking in the Northeast, making goat's milk yogurt, and sustainable food systems.
